Yoga as storytelling

The human experience of storytelling enthrals and delights us all, whether we’re the one reciting it or simply enjoying someone else’s telling of it. Stories are everywhere and they matter - deeply! Every Religion, Tradition, theistic, non-theistic, or contemplative path have all began with the exploration of a reason for existence. The seeker goes inside, profoundly reflecting on their own personal search for meaning, remembering their experiences, listening intently, and absorbing the stories they find there.

And remembering is not simply a process in the head, the body remembers.

Yoga: the deep, rich expansive philosophy, the breathwork, the movement – the limitless potential for conscious expansion and awareness.

Writing: a sonorous practice, which gifts the sincere ability to become present in a fully embodied way where sacred stories are given space on the page.

Yoga as a creative practice

So while the asana (physical movement) of yoga helps to explore and make space for the deep stories stored in the cells of the body, writing becomes the expression of all the body can no longer hold.

Yoga supports us as we explore and make space for the body’s stories. Writing gives these stories form, shape, a narrative, it bears witness to our bodily experiences and deepens our relationship to self and the world around us.

Yoga as a soul practice

Because our nervous system is where all our stories begin. allow resting and resting well to become a writing practice.
